Hi, I am Yura.
I didn't set out to start a toy company.
I made Beevih for my own children. It started with me watching my children play, pretending that a wooden block was a person swimming in a "sea" represented by a washcloth.
The best toy isn't one that comes with beeps, lights or claims of educational benefits. It is one that facilitates imagination and storytelling – like that washcloth.
Beevih is a canvas for world-building and storytelling.
So I started designing hexagons my children could use to build into imagined seas, fields, towns for their stories.
They loved it.
So did their friends.
And so did their friends' parents.
I shared it on Kickstarter, to see what other families thought of it.
It was over 500% funded
Children need space, not entertainment.
Beevih aims to provide space, not entertainment. Space to build worlds and create stories. Its pieces connect and evolve with play – sometimes a map, a puzzle, a canvas.
Beevih is built to be slow and durable, not churn fast. It is made for families who are intentional about what their children play with – quality pieces sustainably made to belong in their homes for years.
Inspired by a child, created by a parent.
After two years of development, testing and refinement, I'm finally ready to share Beevih with like-minded families.
If you believe in slow, imaginative play, I'm glad you're here.
